起業家宣言

私は、平凡な人間となる道を選ばない。

可能なかぎり、非凡であることこそ、私の権利である。
私の求めるものは、チャンスであって、保身ではない。
国家に扶養されることによって、自尊心と活力を失い、飼い慣らされた市民となることはけっして望まない。

私は計算し尽くしたリスクに挑戦したい。
夢を追い、それを実現させ、失敗と成功を重ねる波瀾万丈こそ望むところだ。
大きな報酬を犠牲にして、わずかばかりの施しを押し戴くのはごめんだ。
生活の保障よりも、さまざまな人生の挑戦を選びたい。人が理想郷と呼ぶ静寂よりも、スリルに満ちた充足感を知りたい。

自由を失う見返りとして恩恵を受けることを願わず、人間としての尊厳を失う代償として、施しを得たいとも思わない。
いかなる権力者の前にひざまずくこともしないし、どんな恐れに対しても屈服しない。

私の血の中に流れる矜持は、何事にもひるまず、
誇りと勇気を忘れず、みずからの意志を持ってみずから行動し、自分自身の手で作り出した利益を享受することであり、世の中に向けてこう力強く宣言することである。
天は自ら助くるものを助けしと。
起業家たらんとする者は、すべて以上を信条とすべきことを、ここに宣言する。

I do not choose to be a common man.
It is my right to be uncommon -- if I can.
I seek opportunity -- not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.

I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.

I refuse to barter incentive for a dole; I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the state calm of Utopia.

I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.

It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself, to enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say: This, with God's help, I have done.
All this is what it means to be an Entrepreneur.
